The 3 Arts Club Cafe in Restoration Hardware is a staple in Chicago for a reason. The reason… the vibes. This place is such a mood in the best way. First they have valet. If you’ve never had to find street parking in Chicago then you don’t know my pain. Secondly, four stories of gorgeous photo opportunities await you as you meander around the building. Third, a bar greets you right as you enter that serves coffee, bellinis, wine and more!
If that doesn’t get you in the door I don’t know what will, well besides the food. Speaking of the delicious menu. The brunch menu has never done me dirty and I stand by that. Also don’t be afraid to share a meal, the portion sizes are massive and I always end up taking a to-go box.
We were actually there to celebrate a late mother’s day brunch. Maddie and Richard were stationed in Chicago with the Cubs and all of the AZ family were heading to the midwest to celebrate my grandmother’s 90th birthday that weekend. It all just happened to fall in place for a weekend of celebrations.
I can not talk this place up enough. It really is stunning inside. Every floor is curated so beautifully and every detail is thought out. For those of you that dont know Restoration Hardware is actually a membership organization for anyone in the design space. Think interior designers and decorators. Hence the meticulously planned rooms. There are handfuls of staff on each floor ready to jump in and design anything from a bathroom remodel to new pillowcases.
My favorite place is always the rooftops. Beautiful bubbling fountains are hidden away between manicured plants. The chicago location was no exception. It was a charming spring day with a light breeze and we found ourselves lounging on patio furniture that costs the same as a midsize vehicle (not kidding).
We eventually made our way back down to the cafe area on the first floor. Were seated and our feast began. I settled on the heavenly avocado toast with a side of french fries. This sourdough toast pairing had a very generous amount of avocado and was accompanied by a drizzle of balsamic and chives.
These are my version of a perfect french fry. They are thin with a satisfying crispy crunch that itches some part of my brain in the most pleasing way.
We chatted the rest of the early afternoon away and enjoyed the company of the family before we all decided an afternoon coffee was on the docket.
If your ever in the area I implore you to take the time to visit, just make sure to make a reservation ahead of time, this location gets busy. Take a look at their full brunch menu here.
